Marin Countywide Plan
Working Group Overview
Three Working Groups convened in the summer of 2001 to develop the Key Trends, Issues, and Strategies Report, which was completed in January 2003. The three working groups were: Built Environment, Natural Systems, and Economy, Equity, and Culture.
Built Environment Working Group
This group worked on the Built Environment chapter of the Key Trends, Issues, and Strategies Report. The group generated and evaluated information on transportation, energy, housing, community design, community facilities, and community development.
Members included: Sue Beittel, Mark Birnbaum, Raison Cain, Ken Eichstaedt, Tom Hinman, Deb Hubsmith, Bill McCubbin, Betty Pagett, Alicia Retes, Tim Rosenfeld, James Stark, Chantel Walker, Patsy White, and Cecilia Zamora.
Natural Systems Working Group
This group was responsible for the Natural Systems chapter of the Key Trends, Issues, and Strategies Report. The group generated and evaluated information on native species and habitat, water quality, air quality, mineral resources, environmental hazards, open space and recreation, and food and agriculture.
Members included: Robert Berner, Janet Brown, Katherine Cuneo, George Grossi, Randy Hayes, Jared Huffman, Penny Livingston-Stark, Kathy Lowry, Peter Luchetti, Carol Misseldine, Don Neubacher, Carlos Porrata, Ellie Rilla, and Ellen Straus.
Economy, Equity, and Culture Working Group
This group worked on the Economy, Equity and Culture chapter of the Key Trends, Issues, and Strategies Report. The group generated and evaluated information on the economy, social equity and public health, the arts, cultural facilities, and archaeological resources.
Members included: Clark Blasdell, Virginia Brunini, Hilda Castillo, Katherine Crecelius, Kristene Cristobal, Faye D'Opal, Manny Fernandez, Darcy Hammons, Jim Henderson, Lisa Ford, Vinh O. Luu, Charles McGlashan, Byron Sigal, Michael Walker, and Amy Wilson.
Sustainability Working Group
The task of this Working Group was to develop Sustainability Guiding Principles. These Principles are being applied to the Countywide Plan policies.
Members included: Meg Amaral, Sue Beittel, Clark Blasdell, Nona Dennis, Nancy Ducos, Jeffrey Ehlenback, Jim Goodwin, Grace Hughes, Arie Kurtzig, Luke McCann, Charles McGlashan, Linda Novy, Larry Rosenberger, and Sim Van der Ryn.
